It has been quite a whirlwind since our last mass update so we figured we better get to it. In this edition of NotEssential News we run through all the updates since our last newsletter. Thank you for choosing to ride with us for over 2 years. We can not wait to see what comes next!
Swapsies
As you may remember our original art, while cute, left a little to be desired. After much feedback and thanks to the tallents of Rice and Jono we now have all new art. As a team we feel this change makes your Cyclo’s a heap more personable bringing a very carefully selected new colour palette and heaps of traits. If you have not refreshed your metadata related to your CycloTurtles you better hit that button. With this new art comes new one of one’s so keep your eye peeled, they may just be disguised as normies in your wallet. Reveal of these one of one’s is guaranteed to be a banger!
Party time
After our big change in art we decided we better showcase it to the world. Vivid Sydney is one of the most colourful and absolutely lit events in Australia, so we knew we had to go. During this event we were privileged to be part of the Future Art, an NFT event held directly in Sydney harbour held at Home bar. This tri level venue that was packed and pumping with crypto enthusiasts, artists, developers, degens, and collectors alike. The whole team got to meet with many other projects and were amazed to see all of you absolutely legendary holders that showed up for this one of a kind event showcasing CycloTurtles and proving that connection conquers
The Pump
With new art in hand and a fresh appearance at future art we were off to the races. CyloTurtles gained new holders and new traction while the community grew to include many other founders across Web3. The whole team is thrilled with this progress and we hope to add many more holders in the future.
NotEssential Express
With all of your support we wanted to deliver. The team got together and designed branded care packages for every single holder. With bucket hats, totes, notes, and stickers packed we began the task of mailing this milestone in communal identity out to all. What we didn’t count on was getting several back, customs turned out to be a little more difficult in some places. In true NotEssential style we kept pushing. After a few attempts, and a heap of discord tickets, all care packages landed for those who provided mailing addresses. The twitter posts and responses you all provided made it all worth it. We care about you family, and we could not have been more pleased that you loved your gifts.
Cross community integration
To be successful in Web3 and IRL we need connection. While we have collaborated with many projects over the years, Holistic Capitol is like no other. As a coordinated effort we decided to have a meet up. The venue was refreshing and the ideas were many as we enjoyed a weekend together at Clarity Beach in Sunshine Coast. This event for founders, developers, and holders alike was a welcomed retreat from the hustle and bustle of our daily Web3 operations. We all enjoyed a variety of activities including meditation, chi gong, kayaking, beach camping and we even got to attend a one of a kind Christmas party hosted by the Bush Baker of Agnes Water.
It’s Magnetic
With a much needed break complete and many new partnerships in place we charged ahead toward our next project milestone. After supporting our friend Stephen Rodan’s development of the CHARM robot, it was finally time to put everyone’s hard work to the test.
Through a coordinated effort we are now growing corals via AI technology and deep vision machine learning with land based nurseries on Magnetic Island, Queensland Australia. This was a major goal of CycloTurtles and we are definitely making waves in the world of coral restoration. Congratulations to every single one of you who took advantage of this opportunity and are now the loving stewards of a baby coral.
The Reconnecton
From the beginning of NotEssential we have aimed to change the way we all connect. This was first shown within our amazing community but quickly spread outward to the whole of Web3. However, staying true to our vision of coral reef restoration we must go bigger. With all of you supporting us and all the success we have achieved together we aim to take it to the next level. In the past months the team has travelled the world to find suitable partnerships to begin building coral restoration facilities. In Sulawesi, Indonesia we landed on Buka Buka Island, the home of Reconnect Island resort. To our great surprise, while talking to island owner Thomas Despin, we learned that the Indonesian Government ministers for tourism and fisheries were to arrive within the next 2 days. After a quick team meeting we decided to take our opportunity and share our project and our upcoming product with them. As a result of this impromptu meeting they invited us back to the government office in the following days for a formal pitch meeting.
The pitch meeting went extremely well, they loved what we were cooking. With business finished the minister of fisheries quickly made sure we got to try their favourite local grilled spicy fish before we had to catch our flights out. The hospitality, agreements, and the meal absolutely blew our socks off. They have given us the necessary permissions and support required to begin a coral restoration project with Reconnect Island resort in Indonesia. This is a massive endeavour for us as a community, a team, and a company. Together we will build this milestone and all others because together we are all ESSENTIAL.
Gratitude to you family,
-Your NotEssential Team
